Roles


Administration Role

  • The Administrator (Management Support Officer) will maintain a vaccination database of all current and expired authorised vaccinators.

  • The Administrator will work under the direction of the Medical Officers of Health regarding the posting out of certifications, re certifications and requests for further information.

  • The certificate will be posted out 10 working days after receipt of correct documentation.

  • The Administrator will send the local IMAC District Immunisation Facilitator an updated spreadsheet of vaccinators each month for follow up. IMAC will follow up with those nurses who now have expired vaccination certificates.


IMAC District Immunisation Facilitator

  • Will carry out the initial practical clinical assessment

  • Available for clinical vaccinator peer review

  • Follow up on vaccinators whose certification has expired

  • Can provide information on vaccinator training courses or vaccinator updates

Nurse/ Authorised Vaccinator Role

  • to provide the required evidence

  • to ensure the evidence is provided to Toi Te Ora – Public Health Service six weeks prior to the expiration of the vaccinator’s certification.

  • to ensure that Toi Te Ora – Public Health Service is informed of change of email address, work place, and or extended leave/retirement


Medical Officer of Health Role

  • Assess if the documentation received meets the requirements for the authorization or reauthorisation request

  • Advise the Admin support person to send a request to the applicant for further information OR

  • Advise the Admin support person to send out the certification to the applicant
