Fruit in Schools

Fruit in Schools (FIS) is a national programme delivered by Toi Te Ora - Public Health Service within all decile one and two schools throughout the Bay of Plenty and Lakes districts.

In addition to the provision of support to become a Health Promoting School, the programme, provides fresh fruit and/or vegetables for all students within these schools and teaching staff receive professional development support. Schools also address four key priority areas: healthy eating, physical activity, smoke free and sun protection.
