How We Work

In partnership

As the Bay of Plenty and Lakes communities grow, it’s vital for Toi Te Ora  - Public Health Service to support and work alongside a wide range of agencies, government and non-government organisations, to promote positive healthy behaviours and to ultimately prevent illness. This ensures that the work carried out is relevant and effective for the community.

As a service of the Bay of Plenty District Health Board, Toi Te Ora - Public Health Service also works alongside its planning and funding team to ensure strategy and planning aligns with their goals; to improve the health of the whole population in the Bay of Plenty district and manage the ongoing service needs of the community.

Toi Te Ora's links are extended to the Lakes District, as Toi Te Ora - Publi Health Service provides public health services to the Lakes District Health Board region.

For sustainability

We recognise we have a role to play in contributing to a sustainable nation.  Utilising the principals of sustainability is essential for achieving health outcomes and reducing inequalities.

Toi Te Ora -  Public Health Service has joined the Sustainable Business Network (SBN) as part of its planning for a more sustainable organisation.  The SBN undertook a sustainability audit of our organisation in 2008 and the results will help inform our projects and activities.
