Health Promoting Schools

Toi Te Ora's Health Promoting Schools programme is about linking health and well being to what is taught in the classroom and the social, cultural and physical environment of the school. This also includes policies and procedures and linking with community partners and organisations that can support the school. Referred to as the 'whole school approach', it means involving the whole school community in activities that promote health and well being.

Health Promoting Schools is a process and framework to enable schools to work in this way.
