Breastfeeding
The Breastfeeding section of the Ministry of health website provides extensive information on breastfeeding for mothers, supporters and health practitioners. It also provides breastfeeding information for employers and communities.

La Leche League
La Leche League is a voluntary, non-profit organisation which offers information, encouragement and support to women who wish to breastfeed their babies. There are group leaders throughout New Zealand, qualified by their experience and training, group meetings and leaders are available by telephone to share breastfeeding information and mothering experiences.
The New Zealand Breastfeeding Authority
The New Zealand Breastfeeding Authority has as its mission to protect, promote and support breastfeeding in Aotearoa New Zealand as the normal method of infant feeding. Their main role is to administer and oversee the WHO/UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative in Aotearoa New Zealand; and work towards improving breastfeeding rates in New Zealand.
World Health Organisation
The World Health Organisation (WHO) is the directing and coordinating authority for health within the United Nations system. It is responsible for providing leadership on global health matters, of which WHO recommends exclusive breastfeeding is recommended up to 6 months of age, with continued breastfeeding along with appropriate complementary foods up to two years of age or beyond.
