About Us

Toi Te Ora - Public Health Service works innovatively and professionally to promote, protect and improve the health of people in our communities.
We are a service of the Bay of Plenty District Health Board – Hauora a Toi - whose funding comes from the Ministry of Health. We also operate in the Lakes District for the Lakes District Health Board.
‘Toi Te Ora’ suggests the idea of enduring well being. ‘Toi’ is the name of a celebrated ancestor in the Eastern Bay of Plenty, and ‘Ora’ is to be alive, well and healthy.
